Oblique aerial view of the quarry from high up — on the right the tall working face of pale grey, horizontally bedded limestone, stepped down in several benches, with a yellowish layer along the top; on the floor a small green pond with a floating platform and a machine from which a long conveyor belt leads out of the pit. On the left the processing plant with a row of round silos, steel frames and conveyors, next to it conical grey stockpiles of crushed stone and a yard full of machinery; in the middle a dark grey, sparsely overgrown spoil slope with a zigzag track. All around harvested fields, hedgerows and a wooded valley, beyond them a solar park and rolling country under a slightly hazy sky.Gemmingen QuarrySL-006Gemmingen, Baden-Württemberg
Oblique aerial view from the valley side towards the slope — at the centre the slender, square residential tower of reddish sandstone masonry with narrow slit windows and shutters in yellow and red chevron stripes, topped by a dark red board-clad timber storey under a pyramid roof. A covered wooden stair climbs its front to the entrance, and a lower block of masonry adjoins it on the right. In front a small courtyard with low wall remains and an information board, in the foreground a roofless square of walls behind a railing. All around dense broadleaf woodland in autumn colours, green, yellow and rust red; behind, the slope rises with a footpath, and blue sky above.Dauchstein CastleSL-005Binau, Baden-Württemberg · 1335
Oblique aerial view at about roof height under a wide, hazy sky — the square keep of pale sandstone at the centre of the frame, roofless and broken open at the top; in front of it the two-storey ranges of the inner ward with red tiled roofs and rows of rectangular windows, a closed white parasol on the terrace at their left end. To the right a half-timbered building over a stone ground floor, with a wall running on behind it. Trees flank the castle on both sides, terraced vineyards fall away in front with a track winding through them; lower left the red roofs of Sulzfeld, and beyond them the hazy plain.Ravensburg CastleSL-004Sulzfeld, Baden-Württemberg · 1220
Oblique aerial view of a castle ruin on a wooded hilltop — a long rubble-stone wall sweeps across the foreground, behind it broadleaf trees, several turned for autumn, to the right a round tower, its crown faceted and open at the top, a slender mast above it. Lower right, terraced vineyards, a town beyond.Weibertreu Castle RuinsSL-003Weinsberg, Baden-Württemberg · 1037
